Mousebreaker game hits to 10 in Apple App Store

Inspire's casual gaming website Mousebreaker has set a new benchmark for IPC mobile, with its Blast Billiards game hitting number seven in the App Store’s paid game chart

Mousebreaker’s first foray into mobile apps has leapfrogged iconic game names including Grand Theft Auto, Rock Band and Tetris. The game features 30 levels of ball-potting action and has crashed into the overall Top Paid Apps Top 20 at 17. The game - a version of the website's Blast Billiards franchise for iPhones and iPod Touches - was featured as 'new and noteworthy' by Apple on Monday evening and has since broken into the top 10 downloaded games, as well as currently sitting proudly as the No.1 app in both sports games and sim games.

Kevin Heery, digital development director for Inspire’s Men and Music brands, said: "Blast Billiards has been played 40m times online over the past 12 months so it was the obvious choice for our first iPhone game. Working with the prestigious development team at Cobra Mobile (whose game iBomber, is one of the most downloaded iPhone apps ever) the Mousebreaker team has produced a game which fits the iPhone device perfectly. Thanks to everyone in the Men and Music team for all the help promoting the game, the marketing effort has been top quality and timed to perfection.” To celebrate, the price of the app has been reduced from £1.19 to 59p until noon tomorrow, Tuesday Feb 9, so if you want to buy the game, move quickly to get a bargain.
