Ignite!
The launch of Nuts in January 2004 has created a whole new magazine genre. Every week, for the price of a half-pint of beer, Nuts delivers young British men a unique mix of sexy women, gritty real-life stories, sport, news and complete TV listings designed just for them. Nuts is the best-selling title in what is now a highly competitive new sector, and is the biggest men's magazine in the UK by sales volume. Nuts scooped the British Society of Magazine Editors' award for Best New Magazine of 2004 and has claimed the Marketing Week Effectiveness Award for Best New Product in 2005.
Inventing new genres is something Ignite is famous for. Loaded is the original male lifestyle magazine - 'for men who should know better'. Just as Nuts has done, Loaded created a whole new category of publishing from its launch in 1994, and continues to be the most recognised name in the sector.
NME is the most iconic music weekly in the world. Its authoritative coverage of both breakthrough and established acts, alongside the latest news, live reviews and expert music recommendations make it indispensable reading for music enthusiasts everywhere, while its ability to champion acts remains second to none. NME has broken acts such as The White Stripes, Strokes and the Arctic Monkeys on both sides of the Atlantic.
NME has built on its heritage and credibility to become a truly unique multi-platform media proposition.
NME.COM is Europe's biggest and most popular music news website. It has earned worldwide respect for its rock music news and features, which are updated around the clock.
NME is also a force in the live market. In the UK it runs four tours a year and of course the NME Awards. Its global reach has underpinned the brand's live development in the US market. Club NME is now active in New York and LA, while the Rock N Roll Riot Tour debuted in the US in Autumn 2007. Most recently the NME Awards USA launched in LA in April 2008.
NME's ongoing multi-platform strategy has also stretched into TV and Radio. NMETV launched on Sky at the end of November, attracting 300,000 viewers a week. And NME Radio – the new national station – launched on June 24 2008 on DAB, Sky, Virgin and NME.com.
May 2008 saw NME named consumer media brand of the year at the prestigious PPA Awards, recognising its unrivalled approach to brand development. Judges described NME as the “headline act of brand development” and as “setting the template for how a modern magazine brand can extend its reach and influence in a variety of ways and across a variety of mediums”.
