British Gas Gets Green On The London Scene
London's carbon emissions are amongst the highest in the UK – an estimated 60 million CO2 units per annum. British Gas wanted to deliver a campaign that promoted a more environmentally sound way of life by reducing carbon emissions through small, everyday changes to the average Londoners lifestyle.
Greater standout was needed from other energy suppliers in the green space and to engage Londoners with a communication that would make it relevant, as well as easy, for an individual to take positive action. British Gas required a London centric solution that would not be perceived as jumping on the 'green bandwagon. Also, research from TNS in 2006 stated that British Gas was equal to EDF as London's number one energy supplier
Some stunning results came out of this campaign, not least that British Gas received a 202% increase in value of investment and 32% of Londoners now see British Gas as London's number one energy supplier, up from 26%.
